Healing, Compassion Versus Empathy
by
Charles R. Crooks
June 5, 2013
For some reason,
many of us of the human race have a genuine desire to assess and our
fellow humans in their need.
It is a condition
that is most peculiar, yet we have also seen this behavior in the
animal kingdom. In both
cases there appears to be a desire to do what one is capable of
doing in providing assistance for another who is in distress.
Having recognized
our natural desire to assist others, we must also consider the
methods and purposes behind our motivations. In the truest sense,
the attributes of Love, Understanding and Compassion, a more than
likely the motivating force behind such noble acts as witnessed in
humans, and in animals.
However, there are
some pitfalls to consider when one is desirous of functioning as a
healer. Before going further on this particular item let us consider
energy levels that we have access to as far as the nature of our
thoughts and/or desires. In order to consider the previous sentence,
a few definitions might be worthy of consideration.
The process of
Compassion and the desire to bring about healing is rooted in the
process of Light, also can be considered to be known as the Father
Attribute. Put differently, as Light expands and expanding to all
things that wish to bathe in its brilliance, then all things expose
to this Light will receive the benefits of its illumination.
Darkness pervaded all before Light came, but Light came not
from darkness, for darkness is the absence of Light. It is true that
Light came not from darkness, moreover, in this world; shadow is
needed to allow us to understand and experience various things.
After all, if we had
all the answers how would we be challenged?
As recognized
earlier, Light prevails and transmutes all things. Since light is
expansionary in its nature, we can then attribute the source of our
existence to this Light. We can further state, with each breath
contains the essence of complete Compassion and Understanding, so
complete that were given the opportunity to work a constructive
and/or destructive path.
For a moment let us
consider the item of acceptance. Acceptance is a natural part of
Lights’ function. Light expands in all manners and seeks not
acceptance from anyone and/or anything.
In Light the
constructive attributes of Compassion and Understanding also
prevail. Neither of these seek acceptance, for they are sufficient
unto their own.
Being that
Compassion and Understanding are the prerequisites to become a
healer, and/or exercise the healing arts in the assistance of
another individual, it would seem that anything else would be a
hindrance, for it would take someone desirous of doing good work out
of the flow of Compassion and Understanding and Light, inhibiting
their ability to flow freely, including the restrictions of their
own particular thinking.
Stated earlier,
Light needs not acceptance or approval from anybody, and/or thing.
Compassion and Understanding are the natural attributes of Light;
they too need no acceptance and/or approval from anybody or
anything.
Empathy on the other
hand, is emotionally based.
While each and every one of us is an emotional being, we are
never far from our own Emotions, the responses and actions, we find
through our own misunderstandings of events presented, we can pretty
well surmise the Emotions are more likely to dwell in the darker
side of humanities world.
We can also state
the some degree of clarity regarding the nature of the Emotions, “We
are more than likely to be misled by our own Emotions, and, our own
reactions than any other stimuli, for in the Emotions all things are
not well known”.
Furthermore, unlike Compassion and Understanding which are the
direct descendants of Light without shadow, Emotions and/or empathy
are derived from calculations of the intellect based upon feelings
of lack.
The previous
statement can be proved by the following, “As Light, Compassion and
Understanding seeks not acceptance, Emotions and Empathy do seek
acceptance”
Peace,
Charles
