I would like to welcome the new
subscribers to this list and hope you find these letters useful.
As you probably have guessed by the tardiness of this particular
letter, I am running behind. Earlier this morning I realized that I
was so far behind I could see my back pockets in front of me as I
walked from one place to the next. I could probably come up with a
few more examples where one might consider themselves to be running
behind, however I think one example is sufficient.
It is important to consider the value of a little silliness in our
lives. Now, that can be something as simple as watching a very funny
TV series, or going out in talking to trees. I do need to warn you
though, about talking to the trees, they are okay, just do not talk
to the squirrels, they are nuts!
When I sit down to do these letters, I have no idea what I am going
to be talking about until I actually sit down and pick up the
microphone for the voice dictation. So, as you probably can imagine
by the first two paragraphs being slightly silly, I myself was also
surprised but pleasantly.
In our spiritual work, we find through our practices various
effects on the body associated with bringing our mind into a calm
state. When we do so, the effects of our stress during the last week
or so become neutralized, bringing about those conditions for
healing and rejuvenation. Now if you were not in the mood for
meditation at a particular time a real good substitute would be to
remember something that made you laugh. A little bit of silliness is
good. Lighten it up it is not that important.
Far too often, we take things too seriously. For example, let us
say someone makes a statement whether the statement is true or not,
it is still disruptive to you and may be realized as hurtful.
After all the initiator of such a statement is attempting to
put you in a subservient position for satisfying their own holes in
their being, which may also be referred to as their emptiness. Often
times we will initiate a question as to what we did to deserve such
a thing. It is a fair question mind you however; the premise may be
off just a little bit. Rather than attempt to conclude we deserved
to receive any form of abuse and/or assault, why not replace it with
“I refuse to accept this injustice”. In addition, for some of you
might recognize that the statement was used in the movie Cloud Atlas
which is a fine piece of work.
There may be situations where we might find some old hurts that are
being triggered by someone inadvertently.
Such person is not guilty of
any crime or assault, but nonetheless their statements, and/or
actions may be perceived to be hurtful. Rather than become angry at
the person initiating the information bringing out these things from
the past, recognize that they are a tool the universe uses to allow
you to examine old items that are no longer useful. Because as you
hold onto old hurts, your ability to love is diminished.
You see, with each breath as I have spoken of before, there is so
much love understanding compassion whereas we are all given the
opportunity to work a path of light or path of darkness.
In addition, in realizing these conditions and qualities we
find and can deduce by our own thinking processes where we are the
very cause of our belief that we are without of the very thing we
pine after.
This is not a fault mind you, but rather a process by the
intellect. Remembering
the intellect’s job is to protect the body at all cost. Therefore,
it considers everything outside of itself dangerous. You will
discover, when you start working a path towards that inner light
within, eventually the intellect will capitulate and turn over all
decision-making processes to the spiritual attributes of ourselves
where it will also find peace and harmony by this action. But until
then, the concept scares the beans out of the intellect.
The reason for this is the intellect does not have a
conception beyond that of the body, so everything outside of the
body is dangerous.
So, the key here is, when you find things to be too burdensome
and/or serious please if you will take a moment to step aside and do
a few things a little differently. As mentioned earlier, an attitude
of silliness would be good or meditation on some higher spiritual
attributes. After all, “Everything you see is waiting patiently
within”1, it is only a matter of giving permission for
complete inclusion.
In the spirit of the Holiday Season also known as Christmas, the
next class December 13 the Egyptian Temple Experiment will be free
of charge. If you wish to donate, send your donations to
organizations such as the Red Cross, food banks, local pet rescues,
or any other organization you might find worthy of your support.
